Rachel Weil established FEMICOM Museum as both digital repository and physical exhibition space dedicated to conserving and honoring games made for female youth. She created this institution to address gender disparities in software preservation. "When we lose these historical girlish games," Weil explains, "how can future designers derive inspiration from them as they routinely do from franchises like Super Mario or Metroid?"
